Post-Procedure Instructions

  1. Immediate Care
    • Apply an ice pack to the treated area intermittently to reduce swelling and discomfort in the first 24-48 hours.
    • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area unless instructed by your provider.
  2. Activity Restrictions
    • Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and activities that could cause excessive movement or heat for at least 24-48 hours post-procedure.
    • Sleep with your head elevated (using extra pillows) to reduce swelling.
  3. Oral Care
    • Maintain good oral hygiene but be gentle around the treated area. Avoid strenuous oral activities (like drinking from a straw) that could cause movement in the lips.
  4. Avoid Certain Products
    • Refrain from using makeup, lip balm, or other cosmetic products on the area for at least 24 hours, or as instructed by your provider.
  5. Watch for Side Effects
    • Common side effects include swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort. These usually resolve within a few days.
    • Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, or signs of infection (redness, warmth, drainage).
  6. Follow-Up Appointment
    • Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to evaluate the results and address any concerns.
  7. Stay Hydrated and Nourished
    • Maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water to promote healing.
