Post-Procedure Instructions
- Immediate Care
- Apply an ice pack to the treated area intermittently to reduce swelling and discomfort in the first 24-48 hours.
- Avoid touching or massaging the treated area unless instructed by your provider.
- Activity Restrictions
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and activities that could cause excessive movement or heat for at least 24-48 hours post-procedure.
- Sleep with your head elevated (using extra pillows) to reduce swelling.
- Oral Care
- Maintain good oral hygiene but be gentle around the treated area. Avoid strenuous oral activities (like drinking from a straw) that could cause movement in the lips.
- Avoid Certain Products
- Refrain from using makeup, lip balm, or other cosmetic products on the area for at least 24 hours, or as instructed by your provider.
- Watch for Side Effects
- Common side effects include swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort. These usually resolve within a few days.
- Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, or signs of infection (redness, warmth, drainage).
- Follow-Up Appointment
- Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to evaluate the results and address any concerns.
- Stay Hydrated and Nourished
- Maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water to promote healing.
