1. What is a FOX eye thread lift?
Fox eye lift / Fox eye thread lift uses Silhouette Soft threads to thread lift eyes area, lifting the edge of the brow. This brow lift or a cats eye-lift treatment can be used to recreate the popular fox eye trend which gives a subtle slant upwards to the outer brow area, which effectively lifts and elongates the upper eyelid creating a beautiful almond eye shape.
The fox eye thread lift procedure can be used as a subtle solution for other eye concerns such as a heavy brow, asymmetry and hooded lids. For example one brow only can be lifted to correct symmetry, and as a tool to lift hooded, heavy eyelids which can develop with age to create a more ‘awake’ and refreshed eye area.
2. What does the FOX eye lift procedure involve?
A thread, which is a dissolvable stitch which contains small cones, is inserted under the skin, it is then tightened and the cones of the thread hook under the skin to lift the area. The type of thread we use at ALISIIA KHOLLI aesthetics premium thread on the market.
You are awake throughout and the procedure takes no more than 20 minutes.
It is not painful as you are injected with local anaesthetic before the procedure.
Results are instant and recovery time is 1-3 weeks.
3. How does a FOX eye lift works?
Fox eye lift / Fox eye thread lift works in two ways;
- Firstly, Eyebrow thread lift mechanically lifts the skin, which gives an immediate lifted appearance to the face – acting as a non-surgical brow lift
- Secondly, over the following months, the small cones on the threads (which are anchored deep in your skin) stimulate the body’s collagen production, creating a lifted appearance that’s completely natural.
- To enhance the lifting of the brow area and lengthen the effects of the Eyebrow thread lift - anti-wrinkle injections above the eyebrows is injected on the day of treatment.
Thread Lift (eyes) is a non-surgical brow lift where threads are used in this area for three different reasons:
- To change the shape of the brow often referred to as fox brows. This creates a wide eyed, lifted fox eye look keeping with the fox eye trend, which is not related to the ageing process.
- To create a brow lift – e.g lift the brow to treat hooded lids or heavy eyebrows which often are caused by ageing – treatment for this indication is suitable from aged 30 onwards
- To correct asymmetry, where a thread is placed in one brow to lift one brow to create symmetry with the other
Over time the threads simply naturally dissolve in your skin, the same way that any dissolvable stitch would.
4. What should I not do after the treatments?
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours after you get lip fillers or any other dermal fillers. Elevated blood pressure and heart rate from exercise may make swelling or bruising worse. You can take Arnica for bruising if your doctor approves. It’s fine to engage in light activities like walking. Avoid alcohol and hydrate often.

6. What are dermal fillers?
Face and lip fillers are therapeutic materials for soft tissue augmentation. They have a clear gel-like consistency and are injected with a fine needle or cannula. Most dermal fillers are based on Hylauronic Acid (HA) which is a naturally occuring substance already present within the skin. Fillers can enhance facial features and contours. They can reduce signs of aging by smoothing lines and wrinkles, or add volume to thin lips or sunken cheeks. We only use FDA and CE approved products including Juvederm, Belotero and Restylane. Modern HA fillers are not permanent and are gradually absorbed over time.
7. Can I get Russian lips if I currently have lip fillers?
Yes, but it’s best to discuss with us first to determine if you need your old lip fillers dissolved. For Russian-style lips, your lips should ideally be in a virgin state or minimally filled.
8. What brand of fillers do you use?
We use Juvederm, Restylane. Products have slightly different properties including HA concentrations, density and molecule size and are chosen based on the area treated, condition of skin, technique used, client requirements etc.
9. How soon will I see a difference?
Often you will see a difference right after treatment, however we advise waiting up to 2 weeks to see true results after any initial swelling and settling. Some skin treatments such as Morpheus can take slightly longer to give a full representation of the procedure as the effects gradually improve over time. Photographs can be taken for our records and for comparison at different stages.
10. Will the procedure sometimes not work?
Occasionally a procedure may need a few treatments to see the desired result – this will be advised before treatment. It isn’t recommended to inject excessive amounts in 1 session, which can result in filler spread or migration outside the desired area due to increased pressure before the product has settled.
11. How many treatments need?
Starting in the 30’s we begin to lose volume in the facial area each year. To keep a more youthful appearance it is typical for patients to require 1ml syringe of filler per decade of life. For a full facial correction at 40 years old, around 4 syringes would be suitable for optimal results, although often treatment is only sought for 1 specific area or problem. For lips, someone with very thin lips may require several sessions to build up their desired look safely. The same applies with complex corrections.
We will discuss at ALISIIA KHOLLI and advice in a consultation before proceeding.
12. Are there any adverse effects?
Most side-effects of hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and should only last a few days. They may include: Swelling and bruising, light bleeding, redness and tenderness at the injection sites, reactivation of cold sores or fever blisters (herpes simplex) on the lips or surrounding area.
More serious risks of a vascular occlusion and tissue death if untreated are possible – much more likely when attempted by untrained injectors at home. There is some risk in every procedure, but modern fillers are generally very safe when done in a professional setting by those with expert knowledge of the artery structure. Treatments can be quickly reversed by dissolving the filler with Hyaluronidase in the rare event of any serious effects or inflammatory reactions.
13. Russian Lips VS Classic Lips
Classic Technique Traditional Lip Augmentation Approach
The conventional method of enhancing lips aims to create a heart-shaped appearance. It meticulously outlines the cupid's bow on both upper and lower lips, gently tapering the edges to achieve elegant side projections. The result? Well-hydrated lips with a fuller look and a naturally plump effect.
Outcomes from this classic technique vary depending on individual facial structures and desired rejuvenation levels. Individuals with prominent facial features may consider this treatment to balance their lips with the overall facial harmony.
Russian Technique Modern Lip Enhancement Method
The contemporary approach to lip augmentation, known as the Russian technique, has become popular for its emphasis on achieving a more natural post-treatment look. Referred to as the "less is more" philosophy, it utilizes a conservative amount of filler, making it highly sought after among patients.
In this procedure, the filler accentuates the cupid's bow before enhancing the lower lip to increase overall lip height. The goal is to minimize the space between the chin and the lower lip base for a well-proportioned rejuvenation.
Precision is key in injecting hyaluronic acid filler into specific areas of the lips. This results in lifting the pink part of the lip, reducing the philtrum length, and creating a subtle curve towards the chin.
A skilled practitioner carefully manages contouring, ensuring precise definition of the lip border. The Russian technique focuses on achieving balanced and proportional lips without excessive fullness.
While utilizing the same fillers, the Russian technique differs by using smaller amounts across larger lip areas. Vertical injections with smaller syringes provide improved control, resulting in a subtly enhanced lip appearance.
However, it's important to consider potential drawbacks, such as increased discomfort, bruising, and swelling due to more injection points. These effects typically subside within a short period. Additionally, dissolving previous lip fillers may be recommended before undergoing this procedure.
